Celebrating the birthday of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh with Jammu West Team at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
Jammu : Speaking on the occasion, Ayodhya Gupta, Jammu West District President put light on the life and the works of Amar Shaheed. Born in 1907 he belonged to a family of persons who lived for the country. So he got the values in his blood. His father and uncles were in jail at the time of his birth. He was greatly influenced by the non- cooperation movement first but later he was disillusioned by the non-violence and joined the ranks with the likes of Shaheed Chander Shekhar Azad and others.
Ayodhya Gupta explained how he threw bomb in the Assembly to only scare the Britishers but not to kill anyone. His sole aim was to ready the country-men for the great cause. How he used the platform to air his views. And the Britishers how mercilessly hanged him even before due time after sunset.
Bhagat Singh struggled for the freedom of Mother India day and night throughout his life. He stood as a beacon of light for the fellow Indians in the time of distress. He gave the young population a new sense of valour and pride to do and die for the Nation. Even Mahatma Gandhi, Neta ji and other great leaders of the time admired his dedication for the cause. Ayodhya Gupta added that Nation has to see him as an Icon and asked the youth to follow his footsteps.
