Central Govt not considering to create separate zones for KPs
New Delhi: The central government is not considering for the creation of exclusive zones for Kashmiri Pandits (KP). This information was given by Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary while informing the Lok Sabha. He was replying to a question raised by nine MPs whether there is any proposal of the state government to create seperate zones for KPs. “No proposal to create separate zones exclusively for the Kashmiri pandits in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is under consideration,” he said.
Chaudhary while replying to the written questions about rehabilitation of KPs said that they are being paid an enhanced cash relief from Rs 1,650 to Rs 2,550 per head from May 1 and the ceiling for cash relief per family was also enhanced from Rs 6,600 to Rs 10,000.
It is pertinent to mention here that Separatists have opposed the building of separate townships for KPs whereas the migrant Kashmiri Pandits are demanding for a composite township.
