Chain Singh (shooter) son of soil felicitated by IGP Jammu

Jammu, Feb 1: Sh. Chain Singh, shooter, son of the soil who is resident of Distt. Doda, J&K was felicitated by Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Sh. Danesh Rana-IPS   in his office chamber, here today.
He was presented a memento in presence of Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Sh. Ashok Kumar –SSP and SSP Hqrs. Sh. Romesh Kotwal.
Shri Chain Singh being a resident of a remote and hilly area having no platform for shooting he has done a lot of hard work and has become a role model for younger generation of J&K State.
He has represented India in number of occasions and brought laurels for state of Jammu and Kashmir by winning the bronze Medal during the year 2014, Asian Games at Incheon in the men’s 50m rifle 3 position events.
He also won six gold medals, three in individual events and three in team events, in 2016 South Asian Games held at Guwahati and Shillong in India.
He also represented India at the biggest sporting stage of them all – the 2016 Rio Olympics games.
Chain Singh also met budding shooter of Jammu Ms. Kavya Kocher and gave her useful tips of shooting. Ms. Kavya Kochar is national champion in junior category and is fast improving in the sport.
Sh. Danesh Rana-IPS,  IGP Jammu Zone, wished him more success in the forthcoming World Cup to be held Delhi this month.
He also advised Sh. Chain Singh, shooter to spare his valuable time and provide tips to the shooters of Police department whenever he visits Jammu next
