Jammu:Transporters have declared a chakka jam on Monday against the open toll plaza at Saror in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. The bus service on the Jammu-Kathua route and on the routes adjacent to Vijaypur, Matador operators have announced the closure of services.
The wheels of 300 buses of Jammu-Kathua route will stop on Monday. At the same time, Vijaypur Matador operators have announced an indefinite strike till the toll plaza is closed.
Kathua Bus Service General Manager Raghpal Singh said that the government has created a job crisis in front of transporters by opening toll plazas despite protests. It will no longer be tolerated. Vijaypur Matador Union Incharge Raghubir Singh Wagal said that it has been decided not to run Matador until the toll plaza is closed.
The services of 70 metadores of the union have been stopped. Significantly, the Saror toll plaza has been started from October 11. In this, toll is being charged at fixed rates. There has been continuous opposition since its commissioning.
