Chamber demands Judicial enquiry into Nowshera incident

An urgent meeting was convened at Chamber House today on the request of Sh. Rakesh Gupta President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu after the law and order situation took an ugly turn in the town of Nowshera this morning. The Chamber strongly condemns the use of force on the people of Nowshera who had been protesting peacefully for the last more than 35 days.

The Jammu Chamber of Commerce & Industry is committed to taking forward the demand of district status of Nowshera as it is the legitimate right of the people of Nowshera being the oldest Tehsil since pre-independence but through proper channel and not an agitation. The Chamber advises the district administration to exercise restraint and appeals to the people of Nowshera not to play in the hands of any mischievous elements who are having hidden political motives. Chamber appeals to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Madam Mehbooba Mufti to order a Judicial inquiry into this unfortunate incident.
