NC responsible for present state of affairs : Prof. Virender
State BJP Spokesperson, Prof. Virender Gupta, said that Farooq Abdullah instead of blaming PDP-BJP alliance for the Kashmir unrest should introspect his and his party’s doings and the policies pursued by NC after 1975 Indira Gandhi and Sheikh Accord and asked that who was responsible for 1990, 2008 and 2010 turmoils? He added that before 1990 and in 2010 it was NC-Congress alliance governments in the state. Prof. Virender held NC mainly responsible for the present state of affairs which not only supported and nourished separatist tendencies in the valley but itself followed the agenda of separatism and did not allow the people of valley to become the part of National mainstream.
The Spokesperson said that the present situation is not conducive for any dialogue with Pakistan when there are continuous provocations and ceasefire violations by Pakistan army on borders by shelling heavy gun fires on Indian side of LoC and intruders from Pakistan side in Jammu & Kashmir are creating dangerous situation through their terrorist activities. He expressed surprise that Dr. Abdullah refrained from commenting on Uri attack and his demand for holding dialogue with Pakistan coincides with that of Hurriyat.
Prof. Virender told Farooq that BJP does not consider Hurriyat leaders as stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir issue as they are guided by their master across the border, i.e. Pakistan and added that people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh region, PoJK displaced persons, Kashmiri Pandits, Gujjars, Shia Muslims and people of the Indian nation by an large are the stakeholders in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
