Clashes disrupts normal life over Gaza crisis


Srinagar: After Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid and adjoining areas in downtown, hundreds of youth were clashed with security forces who pelted stone on them to express their solidarity with Gaza crisis resulting which the police has resorted to lathi-charge and fire tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.

A large number of people from all walks of life while condemning the slaughter of innocent civilians, children and women by Israeli bombardment in Gaza joined the protests. Demonstrators and protesters were holding placards and banners in their hands which portrayed the situation in Gaza and chanted slogans America and Israel and demanded to save population of Gaza. Protest rally was taken out from downtown areas of old city following by stone-pelting at Jamia Masjid, Saraf Kadal, Bohrikadal and Nowhatta after police tried to stop them from marching in a procession in violation of prohibitory orders to protest what they called “massacre” of civilian by Israel and the “criminal silence” by the world bodies.
Meanwhile, the reports of demonstration was also received from other parts of the valley including Chadoora Budgam against the barbaric act of Israeli forces.
