Clashes Erupted in Pulwama after Gunfight; Train service suspended

Srinagar: Clashes erupted in Pulwama town on Saturday after the news of death of three Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants in a gunfight spread in the area.

Witnesses said that youths pelted stones on forces who responded with teargas shelling.

Protests rocked Tahab and Bandina villages of the south Kashmir district after the death of three of militants – two of whom belonged to these villages.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed across the district to mourn the killings.

The train service was also suspended in an area after situation become unrest in an area.

Three militants – Haseeb Pala of Bandina, Ishaq Dar of Dogripora and Ishfaq Baba of Tahab – died in a gunbattle in the wee hours today at Panzgam village.
