JAMMU, March 4: Agitating students of Class 12th who were protesting against the ‘out of syllabus’ Physics paper on Saturday clashed with Police in which 3 students and 3 cops including a DySP and a SHO were injured.
The clash took place after police resorted to Lathicharge and even lobbed teargas shells to disperse the agitating students who had blocked the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Rehari Chungi. The agitating students did not relent and instead, started stone-pelting in the cops. The ding-dong battle continued for an hour in which 3 Students and 3 cops were injured. Though the identity of the students could not be ascertained but the injured cops have been identified as DySP (North) Vivek Shekhar, SHO Pucca Danga Ajay Bhat and PSO of SHO Nowabad.
Besides, some students were also taken into preventive custody by the police who were later released after counselling. It all began in the morning when the students of Class 12th began protesting against ‘Out of Syllabus’ physics paper of the 12th class board examination outside the Rehari office of the State Board of School Education (SBSE). The students of class 12th were demanding that the paper is cancelled since most parts of the Physics paper was out of the syllabus or they are awarded grace marks for the same.
