Class 8 Basohli boy’s Murder mystery solved

April 15: Two minor boys in connection with the murder of Karan Kumar (13), a Class VIII Dalit boy of Basohli town, whose dead body was found at the local government model higher secondary school on Monday have been arrested by the Police.

Police has said that the reason behind the murder could be over a mobile phone having some inappropriate content. Two accused who have been arrested in connection with the murder are both minor and neighbours of the victim. Both of them are residents of ward number 13, Basohli.

Sources said one of the accused called the victim from his house on the pretext of playing some game. He was then attacked by the accused over a mobile phone having some objectionable content.

The police have recovered the said mobile phone, along with a knife, a screwdriver and a wooden log allegedly used in the crime.

A complete shutdown was observed in Basohli and Mahanpur towns over the recovery of Minor’s body.

Protestors attacked a police station, blazed an official vehicle of the SHO and a room at the police station, and also thrashed a senior police officer.
