Classes begin at IIM Jammu: Only 2 Jammu students in first batch ?


The first batch for the post graduate programme in Indian Institute of Management(IIIM), Jammu has been started. The classes have been started at the old university campus. The building has been constructed for the first batch of IIM Jammu. Playing fields are also being constructed for the students.

IIM Jammu has been started under the supervision of IIM Lucknow. The mentor institute of IIM Jammu is IIM Lucknow and the director of IIM Jammu is the director of IIM Lucknow.After the renovation of old campus for the first batch, now lawn tennis and basketball courts are being constructed for the students.

Hostel and mess is also ready  for the students and one room has been allotted to one student.  54 students have got admission in the first batch of IIM Jammu out of which 12 are girls. Out of 54 students, 2 are from Jammu and others are from the rest of the states.The students have got admission on the basis of Common Admission Test(CAT) results.For the first four years, the IIM classes will be held in the old campus for which they have been issued Rs.61.90 crores.
