Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti has greeted people on Raksha Bandhan and expressed the hope that this auspicious occasion would bring in a new dawn of peace, brotherhood and prosperity in the State.
In her message, Ms Mehbooba said Raksha Bandhan is one of the greatest symbols of India’s cultural ethos, which symbolizes the special bond that exists between brothers and sisters. She said the festival has a huge significance for our state as the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra concludes on this day and devotees pay obeisance at the Holy Cave.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also prayed for the welfare and safety of the people of J&K State.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today felicitated the people of the state on the eve of Raksha Bandhan adding the festival symbolizing love and special bond between the siblings would also strengthen the existing bonds of mutual brotherhood and co-existence among the people of the state.
In a message, Dr. Singh said that the festival is unique to the cultural and religious ethos of our country, which fosters the bonding of love and affection among brothers and sisters and hoped it would also usher an era of peace, amity and prosperity in the state. He also maintained that the festival has a special significance for our state as it marks the culmination of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
