CM expresses grief over loss of lives in Poonch, Samba accidents

SRINAGAR, JUNE 06: Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of four persons in a tragic road accident in the border district of Poonch today.
The Chief Minister conveyed her heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls. She wished speedy recovery to the injured.
Four people, including two women, were killed and seven others injured when the Tata Sumo vehicle they were travelling in from Khanetar to Poonch skidded off the road and fell into the deep gorge near Khanetar.
The Chief Minister also conveyed her sympathies to the families of the four persons including three women who were killed in a separate road accident near Samba on Jammu-Pathankote highway on Saturday.
Expressing concern over the increasing fatalities in road accidents, Ms Mehbooba directed that all the concerned enforcement agencies to sternly deal with cases of overloading and other traffic violations.
She particularly urged the DGP and IGP Traffic to enforce stringent measures to check overloading of transport vehicles and over-speeding.
