Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated 32 flats for the Darbar Move employees at Sarwal. Built on modern architectural pattern, the 2-BHK flats were constructed in a record time of around one year at a cost of Rs 6.98 crore, an official handout said.
Mehbooba also laid the foundation of a new block of 28 flats targeted to be built in a year’s time at Rs 4 crore. The construction of the flats would address the accommodation needs of the ‘move employees’ by a great measure, the statement said.
The Chief Minister went round the newly constructed flats and took stock of the facilities put in place. She expressed satisfaction over the completion of the flats in the stipulated time. She directed the timeline be maintained in the next phase of constructions as well.
Interacting with the employees on the occasion, the Chief Minister said her government “is committed to provide all facilities to the employees to ensure a better working atmosphere for them so that they give their best to the State.”
Principal secretary to Chief Minister, RohitKansal; divisional commissioner, Jammu, M K Bhandari; IGP Jammu zone, SDS Jamwal; director, estates department, TassaduqJeelani and other senior officers were present.
Also present at the event was president, civil secretariat non-gazetted employees’ union, GhulamRasool Mir along with a large number of employees.
