Jammu, August 10 : Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed reviewed security situation of Udhampur ahead of Independence Day in a high level meeting. Attack on BSF Convoy in Udhampur last week was also one of the main behind the meeting.
“The Chief Minister this morning arrived here and chaired a high level meeting to review an overall security scenario in the region in the wake of August 5 Udhampur militant attack in which two BSF personnel and a militant was killed and another arrested alive,” reliable sources here today told Daily Excelsior.
They said the Chief Minister directed the security agencies to be alert and maintain vigil especially along borders in view of Independence Day.
Sources further said security and project status meeting was chaired by Mr Sayeed at his residence in which Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh, DGP J&K K Rajindera, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, All DC’s and district SSP’s of Jammu province and civil administration heads participated.
