Condolonce meeting held to pay homage to martyrs of 26 September Attacks
‘Citizens meet,’ a programme, which was scheduled by Prayas, a non-government organization, was converted into condolence meeting for paying homage to brave heart soldiers of Army and Police departments who lost their lives in terror attacks at Samba and Hiranagar on Thursday.
Madan Lal Sharma (Member of Parliament, Jammu –Poonch) paid condolences to the families of soldiers and policemen. He said that sacrifices made by armed forces personals and police are exemplary and all member of civil society should always remember sacrifices made by Indian Army Jawans and Police. He prayed for peace and harmony in the state. Sharma also visited the homes of jawans who lost their lives at Vijaypur.
Rajesh Sharma (Chairman, Prayas) and Vikrant Dogra (President, Prayas) jointly convened the condolence meeting. “All sections of the society should contribute in peace building and join hands with administration in fighting anti-national elements,” said Rajesh. He further added that these are the testing times and each individual should be vested with responsibility towards society and nation.
Many prominent members of civil society attended the meet including Manjit singh (Ex. MOS), MJ Sharma, Jugal mahajan, Inderjeet Khajuria, Varinder Gupta, Gajan Singh, Harvinder Singh, Sunita Sharma, Ravi Mahajan, Ravinder Singh, Hanif Mohd and Tajinder Singh.
