Jammu, August 6: In its Pre-Independence Day celebration in run up to the 69th Independence Day, Crossed Swords Division at Akhnoor today organised various lively event like equipment display, Dog show and band show for more than 4000 children of various schools and the locals. The events generated awareness on the capability and history of the rich tradition of the Indian Army.
Military Equipment Display’ was organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Akhnoor. The display featured multitude of military equipment ranging from Artillery guns to combat rifles & night vision devices. The inquisitiveness of young minds to learn more & more about the symbols of Nation’s military might was heartwarming, they appreciated the insight provided to them.
In another event at Kendriya Vidalaya No 2, Akhnoor, a band show programme was organised for the children, parents and the locals. The Band played ceremonial, marching tunes and patriotic songs which added to the nationalistic spirit favour of patriotism in the students and the civilians alike. The Army Public School, Akhnoor witnessed a dog show programme. The show included skills of trained tracker dogs, guard dogs and explosive detector dogs.
The Crossed Swords Division in its Pre-Independence Day events is firmly pursuing, its motto of “CHERISH THE INDEPENDENCE, FEEL THE PATRIOTISM FROM WITHIN”.
