Crossed Swords Division organises visit of Senior citizens
Jammu, Feb 01: An educational and motivational tour to the state of Rajasthan was flagged off by Commander Kalidhar Brigade for Senior Citizens from remote border areas of Beripattan Tehsil of Rajouri District, today. The tour is to provide opportunities to Senior Citizens from border area to visit Jodhpur and Bikaner and to have an insight into the rich culture and traditions of the people of Rajasthan state.
During Interaction with the touring senior citizens, Commander emphasised that providing an exposure to the senior citizens of Rajouri to other cultures prevalent in other regions of the country would go a long way in educating the traditions and ethos of other cultures, he also reiterated that, out of the various projects conducted by Army under Sadbhavana initiative, the tour of Senior Citizens to various parts of India will have a lasting impression on their minds. Speaking on the occasion of flagging off ceremony Shri. Om Prakash one of the touring senior citizens stated that he had never been outside Jammu and that they were grateful to the Indian Army for organising such an event which will provide them a wonderful opportunity to gain an insight into other parts of the country.
The tour will be spread over a period of ten days from 01 February 2016 to 10 February 2016. During the tour, the senior citizens will visit the legendary cities of Jodhpur and Bikaner. The senior citizens will visit places of historical interest and national importance like Junagerh fort, Lalgarh Palace, Agriculture University and various educational institutes. The Senior Citizens will also be interacting with important Civil and military dignitaries in both Jodhpur and Bikaner.
