CRPF Bantalab celebrates Valour Day


CRPF Bantalab celebrates Valour Day in a befitting manner today. This day is marked to celebrate the valour of a small contingent of CRPF men who repulsed the 3,500 men strong Pakistani Brigade’s attack on 9th April, 1965 at Sardar Post in Gujarat in which 34 Pakistani soldiers were killed. In the battle six valiant CRPF men laid down their lives at the call of duty. The Day is being observed as ‘Valour Day’ in the Force.  To grace the occasion, GC, Bantalab today organized a felicitation programme in memory of the gallant action of CRPF heroes.

K.S. Bhandari, IGP, J&K, Zone, Cheif Guest was given Guard of Honour at Quarter Guard before the colourful programme started. Besides the Chief Guest, Kuldeep Dhar, IGP, Jammu, D.S. Bains , DIGP, Sandeep Gokel, DIGP, R.S. Rautela, DIGP and others officers, SO’s and men also graced the occasion with their valuable presence. During this function the decorated retired / serving  Gallant soldiers of CRPF were felicitated by Chief Guest with a memento and Bouquet.  After felicitation a documentary film featuring the gallant action of 9th April 1965 by the force personnel was shown to all.


In his special Sainik Sammelan address, the Chief Guest appreciated the gallant action performed by CRPF personnel for their excellent and praiseworthy performance. He spoke about varied roles of force today in terms of internal security and appealed all to follow the dedication and valour shown by our heroes in past.     The function concluded with an oath ceremony and new released CRPF song which filled up all with the feeling of devotions to duty and service to nation. This function was organised by Group Centre, CRPF Bantalab.
