Curfew imposed in Samba

Jammu, August 21: Curfew was imposed and Army was deployed for taking flag march by the authorities in Samba district late night following the protest by mob at Raya Morh againat sacrilegious act demanding the arrest of culprits and blocked the National Highway.

As per Media reports, the mob protested and torched vehicle of DC Samba and a private motor cycle and also damaged some vehicles in stone pelting in which one private truck was completely damaged. Earlier the authorities imposed section 144 and later imposed curfew in entire Samba district when the situation went out of control.

SHO Vijaypur, Dy SP Vijaypur and tehsildar reached the spot tried to pacify the spot soon after the incident and however failed to control the mob. Later Additional DC, SDM Vijaypur also reached the spot and were also failed to pacify the mob. When DC Samba Sheetal Nanda reached the spot the mob torched the vehicle of DC.

The authorities closed the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway for traffic and no vehicle was allowed to proceed ahead from Bari Brahmana and Ghagwal and Army was also deployed in the area.
