Dalit boy murdered in public for marrying a Hindu girl
The horrible attack was captured in the daytime on the cameras installed in the locality.
Yesterday, a Dalit student was murdered in daylight in front of a shop at Udumalpet in Tirupur district because he married a Hindu girl.
According to the reports, a gang of three members attacked V. Sankar (22) and his wife S. Kausalya (19) with dangerous weapons.
Later, the girl was admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. She suffered head injuries whereas the boy died on his way to the hospital.
The speculations are that some relatives of the girl who were against their marriage planned the whole incident.
According to the police, this scary incident happened in public view due to which some local people have captured the pictures of gang members who were trying to escape on motorcycles.
The victim, Sankar, hails from Kumaralingam near Udumalpet, and his wife Kausalya is a native of Palani in Dindigul district. Both completed their engineering from the same private engineering college in Pollachi and fell in love. Since girl’s family were not happy with her decision so couple got married against their wishes.
As per sources, Kausalya gave up her studies and started working in a private firm in Tirpur in order to help her husband who was studying in Final year. Her parents even went to court with the motive to separate them but could not do anything as she was a major and the couple got married on mutual consent.
Yesterday when the couple went to a nearby departmental store, they were attacked by three people who were on motorcycles due to which Sankar fell on the spot and died on the way to hospital.
As per the reports, Kausalya is fine and the people of the locality were shocked after this incident.
According to a senior police official who is investigating the case said that one of the girl’s close relatives had hired band of mercenaries to murder the Dalit boy.
Further he said that the police have caught the mastermind of the attack and the three attackers would be detained soon.
