Srinagar April 4 The fears of floods may have subsided but the continuous torrents of rains caused enough damage in the last few days. Specialists have already mentioned that due to the floods of September last year and the untimely rains this year, the water tables throughout Kashmir are extremely high. As a result, a flood like situation can be expected every time it rains till September this year.
Notwithstanding the above mentioned threat, the rains that lashed Kashmir last year and in the last few left the houses dilapidated. The houses that were partially damaged last year fell to the ground in the last few days and the relief process has been in question for the amount disbursed or the lack there of.
The rains caused landslides all over the hilly terrains in Jammu and Kashmir claiming the lives of many. Multiple locations throughout Jammu and Kashmir would still be under the threat of Landslides for days after the rains have passed. How many lives are still at stake? No one knows!
