Dangal girl, Sana fatima’s Jammu connection will leave you dumbstruck!



JAMMU: This year’s blockbuster Dangal has went on to break all box office records this year. Just 4 days after release, the movie has joined the 100 crore club.

The performances of actors have also been acclaimed. The two girls playing the role of Geeta Phogat and Babita have particularly been applauded for their tremendous act. While it is already known that Zaira Wasim, the girl who is playing Geeta Phogat’s younger version in the movie belongs to Kashmir. Sana’s connection with Jammu wasn’t known to many.

U4Uvoice found out Sana Fatima Sheikh’s connection with Jammu and Kashmir.

Sana’s father, Sh. Vipan Sharma is a hindu and belongs to a Brahmin family of Jammu and her mother, Raj Tabbasum, a muslim lady belonged to Srinagar. Vipan Sharma left Jammu and went to Mumbai in early 80s and that is where he married Raj Tabassum.

Sana has been born and brought up in Mumbai, but her paternal family including her uncle (chacha), aunt (Bua) still live in Jammu. She also keeps visiting Jammu yearly for family functions etc. Sana’s uncle in conversation with U4Uvoice said that Sana is a glaring inspiration for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Sana’s dedication and hard-work finally paid off as she was toiling hard to get work in bollywood since long, but nothing was clicking, but the 24 year old never gave up.

Recently, Sana took to Social media and wrote that ‘I am proud to be an Indian and wearing Indian jersey is a matter of pride for me’ It is pertinent to note that she has played the character of Geet Phogat in the movie, who created history by winning gold in Commonwealth games in 2010.

“It is a matter of pride for people of the state, that a girl who is directly linked to Jammu as well as Kashmir has become a national phenomena, and has set an example for everyone to see”, said Sana’s uncle Rocky Sharma.

It is also pertinent to note here that Sana has also worked as a child artist in ‘Chachi 420’, alonside Tabu and Kamal Hassan. Born on 11 january 1992, Sana has also had the opportunity to work in a number of South Indian films. She has also worked alongside Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawala in TV shows such as One two ka four, Bittu Boss, Akashwani etc.
