‘Dangal’ girl stuck in a mire; confused Zaira ‘disrespects’ National Anthem


JAMMU, Jan 16: Zaira Wasim, 16-year old girl from Srinagar who acted in blockbuster bollywood film ‘Dangal’, has received widespread appreciation for her performance. Although, with fame comes controversies, and in her case, Zaira was hounded and trolled over internet.

In a most recent incident she was spotted at Wave Cinemas, Jammu for a movie show of her own movie Dangal, in which she has played the role of ‘young’ Geeta Phogat. And as per latest Supreme court ruling, the National Anthem is played in the cinema halls before the movie. While everyone present for the show at Jammu theatre stood up for the National Anthem, Zahira refrained from standing up while the National Anthem played, reveals a source presnet in the same cinema.

Upon witnessing this, the crowd rose to a clamour, and coaxed her to stand up, but she apparently kept denying.

Later when U4UVoice reporter approached her, she denied making any statements and walked away.

Earlier, she was largely discredited for having acted on big screen and meeting J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti. She later tweeted an apology which again sparked a debate across media.

The 16 year old has been provided security following threats from seperatists.
