JAMMU: At an impressive programme held at party headquarters on Sunday, Congress State Vice President & Ex-Minister Thakur Puran Singh along with large number of workers joined BJP in presence of State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Leader of BJP Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria, State Spokespersons Sunil Sethi and Balbir Ram Rattan, State Secretary Munish Sharma and other leaders. The new entrants were garlanded and offered sweets on the joyous occasion.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, while terming the joining of a grass root leader of such a high stature and imminence as a matter pride for BJP, said that this makes Darhal constituency Congress mukht henceforth. He said that joining of leaders like Thakur Puran Singh will further strengthened the party and contribute in achieving Mission 44+. He assured full dignity and standing to all those who are joining BJP to ensure the defeat of Congress, NC, PDP and others smaller parties.
Thakur Puran Singh said that three regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Darhal constituency in particular has been most backward, under-developed due to the discriminatory policies of the successive State governments. After Narendra Modi taking over as Prime Minister with the slogan of development, good governance and end of dynastic rule, many people have got inspired and decided to be part of the development plank as envisaged by Narendra Modi and his party BJP. He further said that with the onset of dynastic politics and Sonia-Rahul’s strangle hold on the Congress every grass root worker felt suffocated and disillusioned. He assured the BJP leadership to work whole-heartedly for its victory.
Congress Block President Budhal & Sarpanch Misri Khan, Darhal Constituency General Secretary Abdul Rashid Shaheen, Budhal Block Secretary Kamal Nain, Senior Congress Leaders from Budhal-Abdul Rashid Bangaal, Pandit Pars Ram, Retd. Headmaster Javed Iqbal, Raj Nagar Lower Panch, Mohd. Shabir, Liaquat Ali, Mohd. Bashir Dhodhi, Youth Congress Budhal President Manzoor Qazi and dozens of other leaders from Budhal also joined BJP along with Thakur Puran Singh.
