DODA: In wake of weather predictions by the meteorology department, District Development Commissioner, Doda Bhupinder Kumar has issued warning as the climate is likely to deteriorate from February 1st to 3rd in avalanche prone areas of the District which are above the altitude of 2500 meters.
The Deputy Commissioner has advised the people not to venture in avalanche-prone areas during the period, besides cleaning snow deposition from roof tops of the houses and bunkers to avoid any untoward incident during the snowfall. He also advised people to temporarily evacuate those locations which are under the line of avalanche.
Kumar issued directions to all the officers to activate their men and machinery and to ensure that there is no disruption of essential services, power supply, water supply, health care services etc and there is no shortage of food grains and kerosene oil in the district.
Assistant director CA&PD was directed to ensure the sufficient stock of essential commodities distributed under PDS in the District especially in hilly snow prone areas of Bhallesa, Dessa, Bhaderwah and Marmat.
The concerned officers have been impressed to establish Control Rooms and the Phone Numbers be notified for the general public.
