JAMMU, August 12: In a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, all the revenue officers of the district Jammu are directed to identify the land measuring 200 acre for establishment of AIIMS in Jammu.
In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner briefed the revenue authorities about the guidelines issued by Union Health Ministry regarding the site selection. The DC asked the officials to clearly specify the features of land viz whether the land proposed is flood prone, encroached, presence of water bodies and forest cover, etc. The officers were also told to provide exact geographical coordinates of the location; classification of land; details of road connectivity from National Highway, Railway Head and Airport.
The deadline given to revenue officials to identify the land is 30th August 2015 so that the proposal can be submitted to Union Government, through State Health Department for inviting the central team for inspection of the site.
