Jammu : Due to major rain storm last night, power supply had been disrupted in maximum areas of Jammu.
The HT(High Tension), 33 KV and 11 KV lines suffered major to minor damages. Teams were deployed since early morning today. As confirmed by the DC Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, it would take a few more hours for the complete restoration of power.
As per the latest reports, power in nearly 70 percent of the rural areas has been restored.
Many parts of Gandhi Nagar, Bathindi, Channi Himmat, Greater Kailash, Sainik Colony and parts of Old Jammu City are still facing disrupted power supply due to multiple faults in these areas. Serious damages have been caused to transmission wires, transformers and poles.
Meanwhile, the major damages in rural areas have been due to the uprooting of poles, in the city however, when trees fell over electric wires due to the abrupt thunderstorm.
The complete restoration in the district will take few more hours. The PDD teams are on job since early morning. The Engineering Company, IRCON has also been pressed for the restoration in their area of ongoing works.
