SAMBA, AUGUST 21 – District Magistrate Samba, Sheetal Nanda, today met Sarpanches and Prominent Citizens of Samba District and appealed them to maintain peace and harmony.
Nanda said that the rumour about sacrilegious act was found totally incorrect. It was disclosed that no cow was killed at Samba and the animal has been identified as buffalo calf after post mortem, which had died more than 96 hours ago and seemed to have reached the spot floating in water. She also assured that there have been no major injuries to anybody.
She said that people should not fall prey to emotional blackmailing and appealed them to beware of rumour mongers bent upon disturbing peace for vested interests.
The Sarpanches and citizens assured the District administration that the peace and brotherhood among communities would be kept at all costs and that they would maintain the golden tradition of peace and harmony in Samba. They demanded that culprits behind these rumours must be brought to justice as they had tried to disturb the peaceful co-existence in the area.
Deputy Commissioner responded to all their concerns and said expeditious redressal of their grievances is administration’s top most priority.
