DDC Anantnag chairs RGGVY meeting at Anantnag
ANANTNAG: A review meeting of the close of phase Ist of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutkara Yojana (RGGVY) in Anantnag and Kulgam Districts was today held at Anantnag under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mr. Saugat Biswas, Chief Engineer EMRE, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Khan, Chief Engineer Electric Mr. M. Muzaffar Matto, Superintending Engineer Electric Anantnag/Kulgam, Executive Engineer of Anantnag and Kulgam were also present in the meeting.
While giving the details of the achievements made under RGGVY in Anantnag District, the Chief Engineer M&RE told that the scheme covers Anantnag Receiving station (Achabal & Nowgam Shangus) from 6.3 MVA and also covers 263.60 ckt kms of Re-conducting of 11 KV providing 8 462 connections to BPL households. The scheme covers 8 blocks and 8 Assembly segments of district Anantnag.
An expenditure of Rs. 42.88 crore was made under up to ending December 2013 on the completion of the scheme in Anantnag district. A total population of 98000 souls of 423 habitations was benefitted through RGGVY phase Ist.
Similarly, in Kulgam district, 247 habitations with a population of 57,000 souls was benefitted with the coverage of 2 receiving stations (Qaimoh and D.H. Pora) from 6.3 MVA to 10 MVA under the scheme 91.26 ckt kms of Re-conducting of 11 KV was covered also BPL connections were provided to 4600 BPL households. The scheme covers 6 blocks of 4 Assembly segments of Kulgam district. An expenditure of Rs. 21.12 crore was booked under the project upto ending December 2013.
The District Development Commissioner directed the Engineers to complete the left out work including HT/LT network from handing over to Power Development Department. He also asked the Chief Planning Officer to aware him about the feedback received from residents of the households and to ensure that scheme has been implemented so that a certification for the phase Ist of RGGVY is sent to the concerned agency.
Earlier, the Chief Engineer M&RE along with other Engineers visited various Receiving station and habitations covered under the scheme in the twin districts of Anantnag and Kulgam.
RGGVY is a national level flagship programmes of Ministry of Power, Government of India with a motive to electricity the un-electrified habitations by creation of rural electrical infrastructure.
