UDHAMPUR: District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal, convened a review meeting to discuss District Action Plan for Food Security Mission (NFSM) for the current financial year 2014-15 here last evening.
While interacting upon the issues covered under Resource Conservation Machineries/ Energy Management, and Efficient water Application Tools, Mudgal stressed to implement the NFSM Scheme in letter and spirit to boost the overall production and productivity of the crops besides promotion of allied activities by generating scientific awareness among farmers of the district.
She took a detailed component wise review of NFSM activities was conducted for the year 2013-14 as NFSM scheme has played a significant key role to lift the overall production status of the farmers covered under NFSM-CSS. She stressed upon laying out of the Scientific Cluster Demonstrations on improved Latest Technologies under NFSM strictly as per specific interventions proposed under the CSS Scheme.
Later, the annual action plan of Rs.308.24 lakh for wheat Rs.205.69 lakh and for Maize Rs.102.55 lakh has been approved by the District Development Commissioner after thorough review of the components and progress rendered under different clusters of NFSM.
Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur, Mr. R.L. Bhagat, Superintending Engineer PDD, Programme Coordinator KVK Reasi, Mr. Des Raj Tripathi and Bishan Dass, Progressive Award winner Farmers, S.S. Kerni, representative of NGO, Agriculture Engineer and District Executive Committee members of NFSM were also present in the meeting .
