DODA: Mr Shyam Vinod Meena in his maiden meeting after taking charge as District Development Commissioner Doda interacted with the civil society members at a meeting also attended by the officers of line departments.
The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements for the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
The prominent citizens apprised the DDC about the arrangements required to be made for the Eid-ul-Fitr festival for the convenience of the people. They demanded adequate and affordable supply of food items, fruits, vegetables, mutton and chicken besides requested District Administration to ensure drinking water supply, power supply, sanitation, traffic management etc during the celebrations.
Responding to the demand for adequate ration supply through PDS, the DDC directed CA&PD functionaries to take steps to plug loopholes if any. He asked the CA&PD to ensure the streamlining of the supply within two days in every nook and corner of the district. He also informed that he will personally inspect food stores in the District to ensure adequate food supply to the consumers.
For better sanitation in Municipal limits of Doda, the officials of Municipality were directed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation of the city within three days. Instructions regarding covering of lanes and drains to prevent any foul smell from spreading were also given to the municipality.
To ensure proper and affordable supply of essential commodities in market especially fruits, vegetables, mutton and chicken, the DDC gave instruction to concerned officials to activate market checking squads in the District and ensure regular inspection of the markets. He also directed to take strict action against erring traders especially those found overcharging and selling sub standard food and other eatables.
The checking squads were also asked to check that the rate lists are displayed at conspicuous place by the shopkeepers.
For uninterrupted power supply during the night of Jumat-ul-Vida, the XEn PDD Doda was directed to submit the plan of arrangements to be made for the supply, besides he was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Eidgahs from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Expressing concern over the problem of beggars in the city, the prominent citizens requested the DDC to take appropriate steps so that the city could be freed from the menace. In this context, the DDC directed the DySP Hq Doda to take necessary steps.
