REASI: The 30th District Level Science Exhibition got underway at District Institute for Education and Trainings (DIET), Reasi.
The two day exhibition is being organized by DIET under the centrally sponsored JNNSE scheme with a view to spot out scientific temper among the students encouraging them study science and pursue carrier with research.
The exhibition was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Reasi-Shabir Ahmad Bhatt, here today.
Principal DIET Darshan Lal, DIO Parvinder Kour, Principal GGHSS P D Sharma and staff members of various schools were also present on the occasion.
Around 59 models were displayed in the exhibition.
Principal DIET explained the themes of all the models on disaster management, global warming, energy conservation, solid waste management, urban planning, development and environment. The students from remote areas presented models on rural technology.
DDC evinced keen interest in the science models put up by the students of various schools of the district and enquired them about the basic concept of their respective models. He said that the students of Reasi district have huge talent but there is a dire need to provide them platform to exhibit the same adding that such science exhibitions could go a long way to boost morale of the budding scientists.
The education department would organize an interactive programme with all the participants at the end of Exhibition .
Field Advisor SIE, Jammu, OP Bhagat, Reasearch Officer SIE, Archana Khanna, Sr Lect DIET, Ashok Kumar and Field advisor SIE, Jammu, Ajit Sharma are the judges for the competition.
