DDC inspects NHW four laning construction works, meets civil society members at Banihal
RAMBAN- District Development Commissioner Ramban, R A Inqlabi conducted a visit from Ramban to Banihal and took stock of the condition of the NHW keeping in view the heavy influx of tourists and yatries to Kashmir valley. He directed all the concerned officers not to leave any stone unturned in making the journey a comfortable one for the passengers. He further directed that due care should be given in maintaining good quality of the materials in repair works wherever necessary. He also inspected National Highway four laning construction work and directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work so that prestigious project will be completed in prescribed time.
Later DDC reviewed the progress of developmental schemes (both Centrally and State sponsored) at Tehsil Banihal with the concerned officers in a review meet. The meeting was attended by all the line officers of the Tehsil. The officers apprised him aware about the pace of the achievements under all sectors viz, Power, Social Welfare, Rural Development, Education , R&B, Fisheries, PHE, Health and all other sectors.
DDC stressed upon the officers that they should work in coordination and gearup their men and machinery for removal of bottlenecks if any for ensuring better achievement of results. He told that priority should be given to the redressal of grievances of the people coming from far off places.
R A Inqlabi also chaired a meet of senior citizen at Banihal. Prominent citizens from all walks of life including sarpanches, panches, traders, businessmen, religious personalities, NGOs and civil society interacted with the DDC. All the senior citizens welcomed the DDC for taking over the charge as Deputy Commissioner Ramban.
The civil society and other members of the society narrated their views and concerns regarding the sanitation, healthcare, traffic, education, availibilty of drinking water and ration, power and above the peace and harmony in the district. They said that the district is by and large one of the peaceful districts in the state and they are ready to co-operate with the district administration for maintaining peace and law and order.
During this public interaction civil society representatives raised certain demands and DDC listened to these demands carefully and assured them that their genuine demands shall be fulfilled in a time bound manner.
Later the DDC also convened a meeting with the represenatatives and discussed various issues with them.
