Delta Force and Civil Society Kishtwar organises Education Expo-2015
Jammu, July 13: In sustained efforts towards upliftment of youth of Kishtwar, Delta Force and civil society Kishtwar alongwith the civil administration organized Education Expo-2015 to provide a platform to the youth of this remote area for on the spot career counseling and admissions for sixteen graduation courses ranging from BA, BBA, BDS, B Tech etc. The directors of esteemed and recongnised educational institutes like Gyan Jyoti Group of Institutes, Hazaribagh Dental College and Rookee college of Engineering Spared their valuable time to render full support and cooperation to this unique initiative for the youth of the region.
The workshop was spanned over two days from 12th to 13th July and was conducted at TRC Kishtwar. Fifteen institutes offering various courses for higher education established their stalls with the college representatives to provide on the spot counsellings, education programme and the courses offered. Key feature of the event was direct interaction of the students with the college representatives and Chairman which helped the students in getting a clear insight about the courses to include education programme, fee structure, hostel facility etc. To cater for everything under one roof stalls were established by J&K Bank for provisioning of education loan and students were briefed about the existing scholarship schemes. . Dr Pervez Ahmed Medical Superintendent of Kishtwar District hospital attended the workshop as parent expressed his excitement to be a part of such an event and desired more such initiatives could be undertaken for the benefit of the students of the district.
The turnout for the first of its kind and unique education expo was more than two hundred on the opening day which included aspiring students from areas of Chatroo, Thatri, Keshwan, Paddar etc apart from the students of Kishtwar town who benefited from the event. The detailed education Programme was explained by Chairman of Gyan Jyoti group of Institutes followed by a brief on scholarship schemes and the admission process. More than 350 students got enrolled in various courses in different institutes. Free gifts were distributed to all participating students by college officials and free meal was provided by troops of Delta Force at Kishtwar.
Army has always been on upfront in taking initiative towards youth empowerment by its various programme in this remote area such as vocational training, tuition classes and conduct of job interviews. The sustained efforts and endeavor with a positive approach of troops of Delta Force in cooperation with civil administration was surely a noble one and has been appreciated by one and all.
