Delta Force busts hideout, recovers arms and ammunition in Kishtwar

Jammu, Sept 28: In a joint operation the troops of Delta Forces at Jangalwar and Police unearthed a terrorist hideout and recovered a huge haul of weapons, ammunition and war like stores today from the densely forested area of Nagini Got in the Bonjwa region of Kishtwar district.

The joint operation was launched based on the information given by a local of Nagini Got region about the likelihood of a possible terrorist hideout in the area following which a massive search operation was pressed into action of the area spanning over a period of two days in extreme weather conditions.

The huge haul of arms and ammunition unearthed from this hideout that included two assault rifles (including AK-47 and AK-56) with four magazines, two pistols alongwith two magazines, three 12 bore rifles, 350 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 26 rounds of Pistol ammunition, five hand Grenades, seven Under Barrel Grenade Launcher Grenades and one Radio set apart from one ammunition pouch, two blankets and some cooking utensils. The hideout is believed to be of an alledged slain HM terrorist Mushtaq Ahmed Butt @ Mussa who used to operate in this region out of such hideouts before being killed by the Security Forces in the year 2011. The success of this joint operation by Delta Force and Police, resulting in huge recovery is a manifestation of the sound and credible intelligence network and security setup which has rendered a crippling blow to any efforts of reviving militancy in the Kishtwar region by Anti national elements.

General Officer Commanding, Delta Force complimented the troops who took part in the operation and commented that the recovery of this cache is in continuation of the sustained efforts of Delta Force towards dismantling of terrorists infrastructure and support base of remnant terrorists in Chenab Valley.
