DEO interacts with political parties


DDCUdh-7UDHAMPUR :- District Election Officer, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal today convened a meeting of political parties as well as officers of the district administration in order to discuss the preparation of Lok Sabha Elections 2014.
DEO Udhampur appealed to the representatives of various political parties to refrain from indulging in any activity which may aggravate any tension or appeal to cast on communal feeling for securing votes. She further informed them to follow all necessary rule and regulations under Model code Of Conduct during election campaign and also on Election Day.
She further said that the party or candidate should inform the local police authorities of the venue and time of any proposed meeting well in time so as to enable police to make necessary arrangements.
DEO asked the representatives of political parties to cooperate with officers on election duty to ensure peaceful and fair elections.
She exhorted upon the officers related to election machinery to be fully prepared for the smooth conduct of elections.
The representatives of all political parties gave assurance to DEO for their full cooperation in the upcoming elections.
Mrs. Mudgal revealed that to confirm the electoral roll, a special camp would be organized on March 09, 2014. During the camp voter lists of each polling station would be displayed in their polling booth in presence of BLOs  for their updation and correction if necessary.
Meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent Police, Suleman Choudhary, IAS probationer, Ravinder Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, N.S Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Pawan Parihar, other officers and representative of various political parties.
