UDHAMPUR : In order to ensure the smooth, free and fair conduct of General Election 2019 in the district, the District Election Officer, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting of all District and Sectoral officers regarding the election preparedness and management here today.
Earlier, Nodal Officers MCC, expenditure and monitoring gave a detailed presentation on Model code of conduct, Expenditure and other aspects of elections during the meeting,
Threadbare discussions were held on the various issues which include finalization of sectors and zones, Hands-on training about IT modules Suvidha, C-VIGIL, Coordination of various members of flying squads, Static surveillance teams, Role and responsibility of such team, Introduction of nodal officers and knowing their counterparts and teammates, security arrangements, Manpower and Material Management, Transport Plan, communication plan, EVMs, facilities for voters at polling stations etc.
The DEO exhorted upon all the participants to perform their duties and responsibilities during election period with added dedication, besides were advised to work in an impartial manner with utmost professionalism to implement MCC and other guidelines in letter and spirit.
He further directed all tehsildars to ensure the Static Surveillance Teams lay Nakas at sensitive points in their jurisdiction to check the movement of any unauthorized material.
He directed concerned officers to provide minimum basic facilities like drinking water, power, toilet, ramps in the polling stations.
The DEO directed the Nodal Officers to activate the teams and to ensure the removal of pending hoardings and banners on public property in the district.
The DEO also apprised them about the guidelines of Model Code of Conduct and asked them to take strict action against the defaulters.
Among others, Senior Superintendent of police Rajiv Omparkash Pande, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, PO ICDS, Rimpy Ohri, Nodal Officers, SDMs, and other district and sectoral officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
