Dev of backward areas priority of Govt: Sakina
DAMHAL-HANJIPORA: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI and Trainings, Ms. Sakina Itoo today conducted a day long tour to his constituency Damhal-Hanjipura in Kulgam district and took stock of ongoing developmental works coming up in the constituency.
While addressing a public gathering at Damhal-Hanjipora, the Minister highlighted the achievements of the coalition government. She reiterated the government’s resolution about the upliftment of down trodden sections of the society and added that all-round development of backward and remote areas of the state was priority of the government.
Ms. Sakina said that Government has initiated a numerous reformative steps for faster and equitable development of all the three regions of the state. She called upon the people to strengthen the hands of Omar-led government by their whole-hearted cooperation for fulfilling the dream of a model J&K as envisaged by the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah.
Referring to the various welfare schemes launched by the Centre-State governments, she asked the people to take full benefits of these schemes, adding that accountability and transparency would be brought in disbursement of financial assistance among needy persons.
She exhorted upon the offices to gear up the machinery of on-going developmental projects and completed them within the stipulated time. She directed the concerned officers to create massive awareness about the Centre and State sponsored schemes and stressed upon the local representatives of the areas to render their services with utmost zeal and dedication.
Earlier, a grand road show was organized by the people of the area and a number of people met the Minister on the way and highlighted their problems. She gave them patient hearing and assured that government will redress all genuine problems of the people in a time bound manner.
Several senior officers of district administration accompanied the Minister.
