Devender Rana silent on beef ban issue, don’t want to upset bosses

Jammu, October 09: The very vocal Conference’s provincial president Devender Singh Rana has adopted an unending silence over tensed situation emerging in the state. The mum which is maintained by Rana is hurting many who voted for him to raise voice against injustice, but Rana seems to be neglecting the needs of his people. He is turning a deaf-ear to the demands of people and even shying away from making any statements on the issues concerning the state.

Rana’s silence over the beef ban is fuming the people of Nagrota Assembly constituency who voted for him wholeheartedly even when they had option of voting on the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While the whole Jammu voted voted for the saffron party following the Modi wave that had engulfed the Nation, the people of Nagrota didn’t budge away from supporting Rana. He has spoiled his image of being very vocal against any happening in the State.

The reason of the silence can only be supported by the fact that his words and opinions may go against the sentiments of the majority community, with Kashmir being the main constituency of NC; and this will not be liked by his bosses in the Valley. The arguments panning out from beef ban can be a good opportunity for government to get its lost ground back in the Valley which has been snatched by the PDP during last elections.
