Div Com discusses inclusion, exclusion of areas from new administrative units

JAMMU JULY 09:- In order to prevent overlapping and anomalies to the jurisdiction of sectoral/district officers with regard to new administrative units, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, today discussed inclusion and exclusion of villages /areas from newly carved out administrative units with Deputy Commissioner of Poonch, Doda, Ramban, Reasi, Samba and Kathua districts through video conferencing.
Assistant Commissioner Central, Sachin Dev Singh besides other concerned officer were also present on the occasion.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned Deputy Commissioner to submit a preliminary report within a week’s time regarding present status of pockets irrationally attached with the new administrative units. In this regard, he asked them to conduct a thorough exercise with proper mapping of their respective districts so that rationalization, resettlement of the same with the original tehsil/niabat/sub-division would be ensured.
Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned DCs to discuss issues of overlapping of jurisdictions with the concerned sectoral/district officer as well as concerned MLA and furnish a self contained comprehensive proposal for re-allocation of areas of various division/sub-division of different departments. Besides, wherever required their jurisdiction is to be made co-terminus with the jurisdiction of the concerned district so that administrative monitoring of the activities of the departments and development works are made more effective to redress public grievances.
