SRINAGAR: In connection with ‘Revival Day’ observance on September 7th, to commemorate the first anniversary of the devastating floods that hit the State September last, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a high level meeting of officers here today and reviewed the arrangements being made for the purpose.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director General Youth Services & Sports, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, representatives of J&K Bank, State Bank of India, H.D.F.C Bank, Railways, Khyber Industries, RAMKY, officers of SRTC and Cultural Academy.
In the meeting, it was decided that main function in this regard will be held in Botanical Garden, Srinagar where the flood affected people and the children whose schools were damaged during the flood shall be participating along with the young men who played vital role in saving people from floods.
Dr. Samoon said that prizes and awards will be distributed among the brave hearts on the day.
The Div Com directed the SRTC to provide bus services from Lal Chowk to Botanical Garden on September 07, 2015.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner directed the officers of SRTC to provide free bus services to the people in Srinagar city in late hours between 7 p.m to 9 p.m and the service shall start from August 17, 2015 for two months so that the people could reach their destinations at night.
