Div Com reviews Buddha Amarnath Yatra, Raghunath Bazar beautification project
JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu has directed the concerned departments to ensure adequate arrangements for the pilgrims of Buddha Amarnath Yatra. The Divisional Commissioner was speaking at a meeting to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Buddha Amarnath Yatra commencing from August 1.
Divisional Commissioner took a detailed review of the security arrangements and other logistic facilities for the yatries. He said that the district administration Poonch has put in place the requisite facilities and assured coordinated efforts will be made for the successful conduct of the yatra.Representatives of the religious organization putforth their various demands to which the Divisional Commissioner assured that the adequate arrangements will be made by the concerned department.
The meeting was attended by SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, Additional Commissioner Rehana Batool, Director Tourism Jammu Soujanya Sharma, Director Health Jammu Dr. B. S. Pathania, SSP Security Ramesh Angral, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu Ashok Kumar, SP Traffic Rural Ravi Sharma, Chief Engineer PHE Sushil Aima, SE PDD Gurmeet Singh, GM SRTC R. S. Jamwal besides Working President VHP Hem Raj Khajuria, Rakesh Sharma Bajrang Dal, K. S. Charak General Secretary Yatri Niwas and Sudershan Khajuria Joint Secy Yatri Niwas.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner convened a meeting to review the Raghunath Bazar beautification project.
It was informed that two sample poles, which were erected in Raghunath Bazar under beautification project, were highly appreciated by the people.The Div Com was also briefed about various other works being executed under the project.
