DLSA, ICPS organise awareness program on Juvenile Justice Act

BANDIPORA : District Legal Services Authority and Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) today organised a day long awareness program to sensitise the people about the Juvenile Justice Act 2013 and women rights.

The Resources Persons explained the provisions of JJ Act and educated the participants about the social security services, and schemes under ICPS. They also informed the participants about the role and responsibilities towards the child protection in a civilised society.

The speakers said that the protection of children is responsibility of every individual adding that ICPS provides a safety net to the children in need of care and protection and those in contact with law. They highlighted the issues of child sexual abuse and child labour. The resource persons also underscored the significance of the child rights.

The program was attended by Principal Magistrate JJ Board, Raja Mohammad Tasleem, Secretary Legal Services Authority Mohammad Iqbal Akhoon, District Child Protection Office Bandipora Altaf Hussain Bhat, Child Protection Officer Bandipora Gowhar Mehmood besides ICPS staff, Civil staff, studentrs and civil society members.
