Doctors decide to remain on duty during Eid: DAK
Srinagar, Sep 12: In view of ongoing crisis in Kashmir, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today in a meeting of executive members at Srinagar decided that doctors will remain on duty during Eid-ul-Zuha.
Amid the unrelenting influx of injured in Kashmir hospitals President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in the meeting said that doctors will not avail Eid holidays and will remain available in hospitals for sick and wounded.
At a time when injured are multiplying each passing day, we have decided to be in hospitals on Eid.
The decision was taken so that medical services are not hampered at a time when they are needed most.
Doctors are requested to be in hospitals during Eid so that there is no disruption of health care in this hour of crisis.
And, hospital authorities are asked to keep transport available so that doctors can reach their duties.
The victims of unrest need us and need us badly this time.
They have hope in us and in no case we will let them down.
Thousands of persons have been injured during the current unrest and many of them are admitted in various hospitals and some of them are battling for life.
Doctors have been on toes and have been working tirelessly right from day one of unrest.
Apart from giving treatment to physical wounds, they have been consoling the traumatized patients and their relatives.
They have been risking their own lives to save lives.
We have no reason to celebrate Eid when whole Kashmir is mourning.
How can we celebrate Eid when people are in pain of grief due to the death of their loved ones?
