Guwahati, 11 February: Chain Singh, the only sportsperson ever from Jammu and Kashmir to have qualified for Olympic Games is in sharp form. Singh, who hails from Bhalessa in Doda district today clinched an individual gold medal as well as a team event gold medal in the 50-metre rifle event at the South Asian games which are currently underway in Guwahati.
The South Asian games is seeing participation from 9 nations and Singh’s event saw a total of 24 participants fighting it out for the top place. Chain Singh, prevailed and won a gold medal and was followed by another India shooter, Gagan Narang who had to settle for silver. The third place was secured by a shooter from Pakistan.
Singh is set to compete in two more rifle events tomorrow and day-after tomorrow and U4UVoice wishes the Jammu and Kashmir lad success. He is a part of the Indian Olympic team this year for the Rio Olympics event.
