KISHTWAR (GALIGARH), MAY 04: – To redress the grievances of the people living in far flung and remote areas of the District Kishtwar, Minister of State for PWD and Revenue Mr. Sunil Sharma today chaired a Public Darbar at Government Higher Secondary School Galigarh and inaugurated a Newly constructed Panchayat Ghar for Drab Panchayat in Sarthal area that has been constructed by Rural Development Department at cost of Rs. 20 lacs.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mr. Mohammad Javaid Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Mr. Yougal Manhas, besides ADDC Kishtwar, ACD Kishtwar, XEn PHE Division Kishtwar, XEn PMGSY , XEn PDD, XEn Irrigation and other District , Sector officers and a huge gathering of people attended the Public Darbar.
While inaugurating the Panchayat Ghar for Drab Panchayat, Mr. Sharma appreciated the quality work done by the RDD in construction of the community asset for the benefit of PRI’s, it was revealed that construction work on 32 Panchayat Ghars is going on and soon will get completed .
Addressing the Public Darbar at Galigarh,the minister said that Government is committed for the development of rural areas and efforts are being made to provide all the basic amenities to the people living in remote and far flung areas. He said road connectivity being the backbone and prime requirement for multi-round development of any region. He said Government has taken up the initiatives to provide better road connectivity, adequate drinking water and power supply, strengthening and uplifting educational standards and infrastructure in rural areas and improving health care delivery system. He said all the initiatives and measures taken by the Government will take a little time to get visible on ground, and asked the people to have patience and then reap the fruits of development.
Regarding the issue of development of Galigarh as a tourist attraction destination, Minister sought the cooperation of the people and donate land adjacent to the Galigarh water stream so that it could be developed as a Picnic spot which will have Parks, Huts, beautification work etc. he said that an amount upto Rs. 50 lacs to Rs. 1 Crore will be provided by the Government for the creation of tourist attraction Centre if the land is donated.
Minister also announced that as demanded by the people of the area, an Extension Ration Sale Depot will be opened by the CA&PD Department so that people don’t have to travel long distance to get ration from the distant Ration sale Depots. Regarding supply of Agriculture Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides, Mr. Sharma said that any interested person who wants to open Seed centre, Fertilizers centre or Pesticide outlet in the area can approach District Administration to get the permission and License to establish the centre/ unit in the area.
On the Issue of improvement of Health care system in the area Minister said that for the establishment of PHC at Galigarh, Dispensary at Jinvas and Sub-Centre in Trigam area, Minister said that CMO Doda has been directed to submit feasibility report of the said Health care centres within two weeks time so that it could be taken up at Ministry level.
Over the issue of miscalculation of payment of land compensation acquired by the GVK for Rattle Hydro Electric Project, Mr. Sharma directed DC Kishtwar to depute ACR Kishtwar to personally camp in the area and settle the claims and ensure that all the genuine affected people get their due amount within time bound manner. Mr. Sharma also directed the officers to ensure that the timelines fixed are met at any cost so that confidence of the people is strengthened with the Government. Regarding over charging of Electric dues, Minister advised the people to install Energy Meters in their Homes and pay as they consume.
Various demands and issues were raised by the people which includes 100 KV Transformer for Galigarh, Upgradation of roads, posting of adequate staff in schools, renovation and repairs of Sub-Centre Galigarh, payment of pending wages under MGNREGA, immediate upgradation of Shalimar-Sarthal road, Upgradation and opening of new schools, beside various other demands and issues were highlighted by the people in the Public Darbar. Minister gave onspot instructions to the concerned officer to mitigate the genuine grievances on priority basis without any delay.
While culminating the proceedings of the Darbar, Mr. Sunil Sharma said that the process of organizing Public darbar will continue on so that the grievances of people are redressed at their doorsteps in a time bound manner.
