Dr Manohar inaugurates Cooperative Deptt office complex
JAMMU: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Fisheries, Stationery and Printing & Elections Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today inaugurated the office complex of the Cooperative Department here at at Rajinder Nagar, Bantalab.
Ramesh Kumar Koul, Secretary to Government Cooperative Department, Basharat Saleem, Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K Cooperative Housing Corporation Ltd., V. K. Maggu, Anjana Tickoo, Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Jammu, Mufti Fariduddin, Joint Registrar & Administrator, Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd., General Manager JAKFED, General Managar SCARD Bank, Managing Director, J&K Housing Corporation, Secretary and staff of J&K Cooperative Union, alongwith the staff of the Cooperative Department and representatives of various Cooperative Societies and Institutions were present on the occasion.
The new complex shall house the office of the Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K, Additional Registrar, Jammu, Joint Registrar Special & Audit and all the Deputy Registrars of Jammu.
The building spread over an area of 4 kanals was constructed by PWD (R&B) Department at a cost of Rs. 5. 07 Crore in a record time of 2 years.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that today is a historic day in the annals of the Cooperative Department as the Department shall now onwards function under a single roof.
Earlier the different offices were operating from different locations in the Jammu city and general public was desperate to have a single cooperative complex for their convenience.
Earlier while speaking at the inaugural function, the Secretary to Government said that it has been the endeavor of the Government to provide congenial working environment to its employees to increase their output and enhance their productivity and the construction of the Cooperative Complex was a step in this directions.
