SRINAGAR: A meeting Departmental Related Standing Committee-III of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Tuesday was held under the Chairmanship of MLC, Mr Ghulam Nabi Monga to review the overall functioning of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control department.
Legislators, Mr Bashir Ahmed Magray, Dr Shehnaz Ganai and Mr Sham Lal Bhagat attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions to improve the working of the department.
The Committee discussed in detail various ongoing PHE and Irrigation schemes being executed in Kashmir Division.
Commissioner Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr Pawan Kotwal briefed the Committee about the physical and financial achievements registered by the department. He said that the department of PHE has set up a complete pipe network to provide potable water supply to its consumers in the valley and all water supply schemes are being maintained and necessary improvement to existing water supply systems is being carried out to ensure that water supply is provided to all.
Chief Engineer, PHE, Kashmir, Mr A Muzaffar Lanker, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Mr Mir Javed, senior officers of concerned departments besides officers and officials of Council Secretariat also attended the meeting.
