Drug peddler arrested with heroin in Jammu

JAMMU: The sleuths of District Special Branch (DSB) and Chatha Police Post under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ jointly arrested a drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession.

As per police sources, on specific information, the sleuths of DSB and Chatha Police Post laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.

During checking, police recovered 2 grams of heroin valuing Rs 80000 in the international market and arrested the pedestrian.

The arrested person has been identified as Rohit Kumar, son of Satish Kumar, a resident of Darsopur, Miran Sahib.

A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.

The arrest was made by Incharge Chatha Police Post SI Arun Slathia under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh, SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani, Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
